Director of School Partnerships
STARTedUP Foundation is looking for a relationship-builder and growth-minded connector who understands schools, believes deeply in the potential of students and educators, and knows how to both deepen lasting partnerships and expand the reach of meaningful programming.
About the Role
The Director of School Partnerships sits at the intersection of education, relationship-building, and growth.
As a key member of the Development team, you'll build trusted partnerships with school leaders and educators across Indiana and beyond, helping them bring innovation and entrepreneurship into their schools. You'll also play a key role in growing STARTedUP's reach by guiding schools through the process of becoming fully committed partners, having honest conversations about our program’s value, fit, and budget along the way.
This is a role for someone who can walk into a school, listen well, build trust, understand what leaders and educators need, and help them see what's possible, and then follow through to make it real.
What You'll Do
Deepening Partnerships
Build and manage relationships with school leaders, including principals and superintendents
Serve as a strategic liaison between STARTedUP and educators, ensuring schools feel confident, aligned, and set up for success
Co-create implementation plans with administrators and teachers, including how the Innovation Accelerator and Work-Based Learning program integrate into courses, programs, and school structures
Help schools think through integration and alignment within their existing academic and extracurricular models
Stay closely connected to partner schools throughout the year through intentional check-ins and visits
Growing Our Reach
Identify and develop new school and district partnerships
Lead one-on-one and group conversations with schools about bringing STARTedUP programming into their communities
Guide schools through the transition from free to paid participation with clarity, confidence, and integrity
What We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
Have experience in education as a teacher, administrator, or in a closely related role
Understand how K-12 schools and districts operate, including academic structures, funding, decision-making, and procurement
Build genuine relationships and establish trust with a wide range of people
Bring some sales or business development experience, and are comfortable discussing program value, pricing, and return on investment in a consultative, non-transactional way
Communicate confidently one-on-one and in front of groups
Follow through on commitments and operate with a high degree of integrity and professionalism
Care deeply about education and student development
Are genuinely interested in innovation and entrepreneurship in secondary education
Thrive working both independently and collaboratively on a small, fast-moving nonprofit team
Are willing to regularly travel to schools and work a hybrid schedule from Indianapolis
Interested?
We're looking for someone who doesn't meet a list of qualifications, but who sees themselves in this work. If helping educators bring meaningful innovation and entrepreneurial experiences to students sounds like work you'd be excited to do, we'd love to hear from you.
